Accessibility
IRID Gallery is committed to making its website and artwork information accessible to as many people as possible.
IRID uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a working standard and continues to review and improve the website over time.
Our commitment
IRID Gallery aims to make www.iridgallery.com.au usable by visitors with a wide range of abilities, devices and assistive technologies.
We recognise that accessibility is not a one-time project. New pages, artwork listings, third-party services and design changes require ongoing testing and improvement.
What we aim to provide
- clear page structure, headings and meaningful link text;
- keyboard access to navigation, forms and interactive controls;
- visible focus indicators for visitors navigating without a mouse;
- readable typography, responsive layouts and sufficient colour contrast;
- descriptive alternative text for meaningful artwork and editorial images;
- labels, instructions and useful error messages for forms;
- content that adapts across desktop, tablet, mobile and browser zoom;
- reduced reliance on motion and support for reduced-motion preferences where practical.
Artwork information
Fine art photography is highly visual, but gallery information should not depend on the image alone. IRID aims to provide artwork titles, artist names, materials, dimensions, edition information and meaningful descriptions in text.
Contact the gallery for a more detailed verbal description, a plain-text version of information, larger text or another accessible format.
Known limitations
Some older content, embedded media, downloadable material or third-party features may not yet fully meet our target standard. Certain services, including payment, maps, social media, analytics or external booking tools, are operated by third parties and may have accessibility limitations outside IRID’s direct control.
Where a feature creates a barrier, contact us and we will try to provide the same information or service through an alternative method.
Feedback and assistance
Tell us which page or feature caused difficulty, what device or assistive technology you were using, and the format or assistance that would help. This information is optional, but it can help us investigate the issue.
Email hello@iridgallery.com. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
