Dani Watson photographs the Australian landscape, much of it from the air. Her work sits between documentary record and visual poetry, and asks how a place can be felt as well as described.

Biography
Landscape felt as much as seen.
Dani Watson is an Australian photographer, printmaker and educator. Her work explores the emotional pull of landscape and the shifting ties between place, memory and perception.
Aerial photography sits at the centre of her practice. Remove the horizon and the usual sense of scale, and land, salt and water turn into pattern, movement and system. Her Connection series follows Lake Eyre as it moves between earth, water and abstraction.
Dani holds a Master of Arts in Photography. Her postgraduate work brought still and moving image together, so a landscape could unfold over time.
She brings long experience in fine art printing, photography education and fieldwork across Australia to every edition. In 2026 her Lake Eyre aerial work made her a Hasselblad Masters finalist in the landscape category.
