Biography
A lifetime given to the act of seeing.
Guy Little is an Australian photographer and artist. His practice spans more than forty years of image-making, drawing, technical inquiry and teaching.
He works mostly in black and white. Landscape, sport, portraiture and natural forms are his starting points, held in place by tonal precision, structure and restraint.
His background covers commercial, scientific and forensic photography, which gives the work its technical rigour. He has lectured and mentored photographers for more than three decades. He holds a Master of Arts in Photography from Falmouth University in the United Kingdom and has exhibited in Australia and abroad, including London, Tokyo and New York.
Photography and drawing stay closely linked in his work. In both, line, contrast and repetition strip a subject back to its essential form.
